B.K. Froman is an educator and an author. and has served as former president Board Member of Women Writing the West.

She first fell into a love/hate relationship with Change in college, researching and defending her thesis on Strong Families in Crises. Smugly thinking an advanced degree equipped her to deal with people and the future, she was soon re-educated by family, conflicts, deaths and two recessions. Trying to understand the alleged magic everyone said comes with transition, (rather than loss and tragedy) she did more research, seeking out stories of courage and resilience in studies, journals, books, movies, and in the words of her family and friends.

Testing those words, she worked in jobs she loved and jobs that made her groan at the thought of going to work. She clocked time and experience with both small and giant corporations and as a consultant for non-profits and state and federal government programs.

Moving to Oregon and teaching at Concordia University underscored the need to incorporate new techniques into business curriculums (and even story-telling) as technology and social media piled changes on students more rapidly than ever.

Choosing her own words and stories, her novels hook readers with suspense, as headstrong, unforgettable characters wrestle with change. Threaded through each tale is a sense of hope, humor, and community, reminding folks—life is about change.
