It's the stars that make Sophia Bolton dream of escaping the poverty-squeezed town and feed her hope of saving idiot-humanity from themselves.
At twenty-six, she's already escaped her backwoods burg twice. Family, stupidity, or alcohol keep pulling her back.
But this time, she's sure she'll make it. She's almost finished with her ticket out of there---a college education.

Until the  easy lure of the campus radio station ensnares her. Pirating the airwaves late at night, she can't explain the satisfaction she gets from telling her stories of growing up with bullies, poverty, betrayal, and hope.
